Optional Software:

In order to play back the converted files created by SmartVid, you will
need Video for Windows 1.1d or later and/or QuickTime for Windows 2.0 or
later.


INSTALLATION:
------------
SmartVid is distributed in a password protected compressed file, INTEL.EXE.  
This file contains the application SmartVid.

To install SmartVid for DOS perform the following steps:

[Steps 1 through 3 should already have been done]

 1) Created a directory called smartvid in c:\smartvid.

 2) Copy the smartv.exe file to C:\smartvid.

 3) Expand the self-extracting archive file by typing smartv.exe

 4) Type intel.exe -ssmartVb3 -d

		This will create the following

		C:\smartvid\dos
		C:\smartvid\dos\smartvid.exe
		C:\smartvid\dos\readme.txt
		C:\smartvid\windows
		C:\smartvid\windows\smartvid.exe
		C:\smartvid\windows\readme.txt
		
 5) Add the above path, C:\smartvid\dos, to your PATH
    in the autoexec.bat file.
		
		For example:

		set PATH=%PATH%;C:\smartvid\dos

To install SmartVid for Windows perform the following steps:

 1) Open Windows and create a SmartVid group by selecting the File-New menu
    from the Program Manager.

 2) Select Program Group from the Dialog Box and click OK.

 3) Enter 'SmartVid' as the Description and click OK.

 4) Create a SmartVid icon by selecting File-New from the Program Manager
    menu

 5) Select Program Item from the Dialog Box and click OK.

 6) In the Command Line section, enter the complete path of the SmartVid 
    executable (C:\smartvid\windows\smartvid.exe).

 7) Click OK and you are ready to run SmartVid for Windows.
